Writing - Poetry

Hi everyone welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking about my writing. For writing I had to write a poem about culture or a tradition or a holiday and I chose to write about a holiday. Because every year at the start of the year in the holidays we go to Kaiteriteri so my poem is about Kaiteriteri. We had to choose a type of poem there was... Haiku, limerick, using comparisons in poetry and cinquain and I did using comparisons in poetry which is using metaphors and similes.

Kaiteriteri

It was as hot as the sun on a summer day,

The sand was like shimmering gold,

The water was as cold as a fridge,

But once you get used to it, it’s as warm as a fuzzy blanket.

Pool day!

Hi everyone welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking about pool day. On Friday the year 5/6's and the year 7/8's went to Waltham pool. Waltham pool is one of the fun days we have at the end of the year and we go there and have fun. Waltham pool is a outdoor pool with a paddling pool and a big pool and in the big pool it goes from shallow to deep, it also has a hydro slide and I really enjoyed the hydro slide. For the hydro slide each of the years would have half an hour it would go the year 5's then the year 6's then the year 7's then the year 8's and we all got half an hour then at the end if you wanted to go on the hydro slide you could. My favorite part at the swimming pool was having fun with my friends and also going on the hydro slide because it was really fast and so fun.

Learning Journey!

Hi everyone today I am going to be talking about my summer learning journey. Mark from cyber smart came in and talked about the summer learning Journey he talked about how we can do blogs for 10 mins a day and we would win prizes if we did all of them. For activity one we had to write about Lorde because she is a New Zealand singer and we had to make a poster about her with a lot of facts to do with her and her family and her courier.
