PBL Main Artifact

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking to you about my main artifact. As you know we have been doing PBL about the future and our question is..... What will the future ask of us? I have done two sub artifacts and they were business cards and a commercial as you saw in my other blog. We are going to be having our showcase on the 25th of September on a Wednesday and we are going to be having pamphlets, business cards, mine craft worlds, models and much more. For my main artifact me and my buddy Paige have made a model of if we did help and save the ocean, how would it look like. In our model we used a lot of clay, a cardboard box, sticks, paint and sand. In our model we have electric cars, trees, sand, volleyball, and waves. I am really proud of our model and it turned out really good and I am so excited for our showcase.

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking to you about my sub artifact. For PBL as you know we have been making projects about the future and for my sub artifacts I did business cards and a commercial. For my commercial we did 6 different ways we can help save our waterways and the ocean and the sea animal. Because a lot of the animals are dying from eating plastic and rubbish and me and my buddy Paige are trying to save them. PBL Planning doc

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking to you about my PBL planning document. For PBL this term we are doing a question and it is... What will the future ask of us? We had to come up with ideas of how we can make the future better for us. We had to get in buddies and my buddy is Paige and we have come up with an idea of making sure our beach is clean and not polluted. R.E Advertisement

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking to you about my R.E advertisement. For this week we had to choose a sacrament and make an ad about it and explain how the sacrament works. We had to do it in buddies and I chose sienna as my buddy and we made a video about our sacrament. Our sacrament we chose was confirmation and that was a pretty easy sacrament but we did have to do some research. Here is our video...

Heart Rate investigation

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking about my heart rate investigation. We first had to find out what our variables are and variables are what changes are in the investigation. The variables in this experiment were the people and the exercises.

 I created this table using google sheets to show my data.  I created this bar graph using google sheets.
Here are my findings

• From the graph I can see that the two minute walk had the lowest heart rates
• I can also see that Harry had the lowest heart rate in the 2 min star jump
• The highest heart rate for all of them was the 2 min sprint

Volunteering Week

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking about volunteering week. This week the Kaupeka hub went to the curtain bank, food bank and graffiti removal. The teachers put us into groups and I went to the food bank. For the food bank we had to pack boxes for people who have no money to get any food. The food bank gives the food boxes to people who can't afford the food they need to survive. We had to also stack the shelves and I really enjoyed doing both of them. There were a lot of other people their that were volunteering. It was nice volunteering because it's nice doing something for someone and your not getting anything back.

Novel study - Outlanders

Hi everyone, today I am going to be talking about my book called outlanders. So the teachers made a book cafe and we had to choose what books we liked and outlanders was one of my favourites so that was my first option. We got put into groups of our book and we had a few weeks to complete the book and I have finished. Here is what my book looks like.

Narrative writing

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking about my narrative writing. For the past two weeks we had to write a narrative writing story and it had to be about the future. I chose to do my story about designer babies and I really enjoyed making my story the teachers gave us a lot of time to do this. I am really proud of what I have completed and I am excited to show you what I have wrote. Here is my story....

BREAKING NEWS! Scientists have discovered how to make your very own designer babies, do you think this could work or could it be a complete fail. Should we be able to make your own designer babies with a machine or shouldn’t we. We are going to chat with one of the scientists who goes by the name Suzie that decided to make the designer babies. “I decided to make the designer babies company because some people can’t have children and we need to make more room in the world for more children”. “ Thanks for that Suzie thank you for watching New York at 6pm”.Dustin had watched the news and came straight over to Maddies house Dustin said “ Did you see the news?” Maddie was confused she watched the news and she was surprised. 

“We need to get to the bottom of this” said Maddie angrily.

Dustin gave Maddie a nod. Dustin thought to himself why did they randomly make these designer babies with no weeks in advance to tell us. They researched designer babies and there was a video, well an ad, to advertise designer babies and it had over 1 million views! So they both decided to go to the designer baby shop and have a look. They walked to their electric car and they could see rubbish on the ground, but it wasn’t rubbish it was an advertisement for the designer babies, they had the best features anyone could have. But they weren’t real humans they were practically robots they didn’t have feelings they would just be perfect and our world is not perfect. 

They got to the designer baby shop and it was filled with so many people and everybody had their ipads and tablets and phone, because they had written and drawn how they want their designer baby to look like. Maddie and Dustin had a look around the shop and there was a lot of technology involved but there was some science to it too. Both of them tried to get in the door but there was too many people. They had seen when the designer babies were done they were always being perfect and they weren’t different at all.

Dustin was walking along the footpath he was looking around at all the designer babies but he had realised that all of the real kids had gone. He told Maddie and she had to get all of the kids back but they were figuring out a way that they could get the kids back and stop this designer baby crisis. Maddie came out to get the mail and she saw that the mailman had dropped something and it was a book so she looked and it said products. She thought “products?” what does that even mean? So she had a look in the book and it said all the products that they used to make the designer babies. That book is just what she needed, she told Dustin everything and they had an idea.

They went to the designer baby shop and she showed people in line about the book and she reminded everyone about their real kids and that they are much more useful and loving, but they weren’t getting the word out to everyone. So they decided to make an advertisement why we shouldn’t have designer babies and that we needed to get the real children back. But Maddie saw that at the end of the book it said “ The children are landing at 3pm in the new town” But Maddie thought what new town? But she realized that there was a new town it was called Archville so she and Dustin went there and did the advertisement. They saw this big bubble thing and there she was, Suzie the mail lady but she was also the scientist that made designer babies. So Suzie got ready for the flight to head off but Maddie had talked to the pilot all about the designer baby crsis. Suzie explained that she wanted to take over the world. But little did she know, Dustin was recording her and posted it on youtube and people were furious.

Dustin and Maddie saved the Children and got rid of the designer baby crisis and finally everything was back to normal everybody had their kids back. Dustin and Maddie were sitting down and they switched on the t.v. They heard “ Thanks to Maddie and Dustin all of us have been saved” They were so happy to reach out to everyone and the world to be happy again.

Novel Study

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog today I am going to be talking about my novel study. My novel is outlanders and we have to make these slides and we have to write what we have seen or read. The teachers made this reading comprehension and I have done two slides and I have reading for the past two weeks. This book is really exciting and I am excited to read the rest.
